Experience of an accident

Experience of an accident
I wonder how these stuntmen in movies jump into car windshields and fall of the metallic body of cars. If not anything else, I have immense respect for these guys. Now I know what it feels like, as I literally rammed my scooter into a black Chevrolet Beat driven by a young dentist. I don't remember what happened but the people on the scene there told me later that I flew into the wind screen of the car head-on. I just remember seeing the road near me and then being lifted and taken to the side of the road. Then I heard the dentist clarifying that she had given the indicator. Hey, wait, wasn't I on the main road and had not I just started accelerating as the signal turned green, and suddenly out of nowhere this huge car is right in front of me. I just don't know how I could have missed such a big car.
Anyways, what is more important is that I had the accident right in front of St. George hospital. So I got the privilege of enjoying the hospitality of the doctors and nurses there. Hey, I was a hero in a bloodied uniform, and these guys really get horrific cases in the casualty. I was a luxury patient, probably I was smelling good too, as I was just going to office so my deo was fresh. Though I don't understand Marathi too much, but I could understand when one of them said that the CMO was going to suture me. Then he chuckled and said: " Yeh VIP case hai naa". I could not help but smile at this, though I was holding my chin with a gauze to stop the bleeding.
The CMO, Dr Subroto was really good, he took a lot of time suturing me but was really good. There was a lot of Marathi banter and I must say that they were really loud, but I guess that is a typical Indian trait, we love to speak loudly, especially when we are trying to explain something to someone. I was enjoying it strangely, I had no choice, did I?

Wait a second! When I was being lifted on the road, I remember some sailor telling me that we should go to the office and then shift me to the Naval hospital/ M I room. With whatever consciousness I had, I just told them to take me to the nearest hospital, and that's how i got to experience St George.  Then once again, when the formalities of the medical legal case was happening, the officers of my unit had arrived and they were discussing shifting me to INHS Ashwini, the Naval Hospital. Luckily, one of my close friends asked me if I wanted to get my stitches done here , and I immediately told them that I wanted to finish the treatment here itself, I think I wanted this experience of a civil hospital or I did not want to waste time traveling from there to Colaba, and delay the process. So, It was decided  and I was shifted to a stretcher and taken into the minor OT room. Ah, finally, I was in  an AC room and there were the typical operation theatre lights on my face.
The suturing was done very meticulously by the doctor, and he warned me whenever he was pricking me for stitching the skin. I started breathing loudly and focused on the breath when it pained. Only one gash was stitched without local anaesthesia, all others were not an issue at all.
The hospital has a digital X-ray and I got my report in 10 minutes flat. Amazing efficiency for a Govt hospital.  Oh ! I forgot, I was a VIP case, probably that's why special treatment was being meted out to me. Two officers and my office staff was there throughout tying up things and ensuring that their VIP was looked after well. Did I really deserve this? I really was feeling overwhelmed by all this.
Then My colleagues took me to the Naval hospital and the doctors there were also impressed with the digital X Ray and the reports. I was referred for review by the Surgery Specialist. He asked me if i wanted to get admitted for few days, and I refused. He asked me to do some funny things with my jaw, hands, checked my eye ball response etc. And finally sent me home for 2 days rest, to be reviewed when the dressing of the wounds is done after 2 days. Boy! Was I glad that I didn't have to stay in the hospital.

So, I thanked my stars that nothing worse happened and made it a point to call up and thank each person who was there for me. This experience has been really humbling and made me realise many aspects of life, especially that life is so unpredictable and that everything is not under our control and planning ability. Not that i am a great and meticulous planner of things, but when things like these happen, there is not much that any one can do but just go through the motions, and try and be positive by seeing that things could have been much worse. This type of thinking really helps to heal fast and also spread positive cheer around.

Well, to cut the story short, I am feeling anxious today as I have to go for dressing my wounds and I have booked a trip to Srinagar for which I am supposed to depart day after tomorrow. So, I am hoping that the doctor would give me  thumbs up to do that! Guys! Come on! Srinagar is a cold place and my wounds will heal faster there. O God! Help me and do put me on the flight to Srinagar. THANK YOU!!

Life in The Navy....

27 Nov 1989... INS Mandovi Goa....
About 72 young aspirant naval officers arrive at this naval base. These young guys belong to different regions, religions.. cultures etc.. and display a kind of diversity that is quite common in our country. Each one looks different in his hair style, type of clothes , but there is one common factor... an anxiety on what lies ahead in the journey of "Naval training" and engineering. What is different about this course as compared to "NDA" or "NAVAL ACADEMY" cadets is that these guys have joined to earn their engineering degrees and become the technical offciers of the Indian Navy  So while there are most who are hard core defence oriented cadets, some of them have joined basically to earn their B Tech. degrees at the cost of the Indian navy.
So, as each one of these young guns arrive here, you can see different characteristics, some of them boisterous and daring in their approach, some timid and shy, while some of them are the intellectual variety who would rather watch and learn. And the camaraderie that is going to be injected into them during the training is already started as they help each other in loading their "steel trunks" and suitcases into the "3-tonner" waiting to pick up them at the station.
The Naval academy Goa is the training establishment for all Naval Executive cadets and the technical cadets start their traning here with a six months Naval orientation program. So these special cadets are called "Techies" in this academy by all their seniors to differentiate them from the other cadets. Well, confusion has always been the name of the game... what is going to happen to us? what is this naval orientation? where have we come? a number of questions ponder in these young minds?
One of the boys in the group was looking way too small and young compared to the other guys.. He was from Maharashtra and his voice had yet not broken. So naturally, he was the first target for all the seniors. He was made the in-charge for all the techies batch arriving and was supposed to guide and co-ordinate the settling down into the respective dormitories. While many of us were terrified at the prospect of being ragged by our seniors. India in England Series 2011

The India In England series 2011 started with 4 test matches.  I will tell you all about the ODI and test series. First, I will start with the test series .These are both the teams for the first test:-

India                                               England

1. Abhinav  Mukund                                                                          1. Andrew Strawss[Captain]
2. Gautam Gambhir                                                           2. Alastair  Cook
3. Rahul Dravid                                                                                     3. Jonathan  Trott
4. Sachin Tendulkar                                                                            4. Kevin Pietersen
5. Suresh Raina                                                                                    5. Eoin Morgan
6.  MS Dhoni [Captain]                                                                      6. Ian Bell
7. Praveen  Kumar                                                                              7. Matt Prior
8. VVS Laxman                                                                                     8. Stuart Broad
9. Harbhajan Singh                                                                             9. Chris Tremlett
10. Zaheer Khan                                                                               10. Graeme Swann

11. Ishant Sharma                                                                            11. James Anderson

So these are both the sides for the first test which was held at Lords, London. Indian team selected Suresh Raina instead of Yuvraj Singh. England had a good, strong side with Eoin Morgan also in the series. The toss was won by the Indian captain, MS Dhoni, and he elected to bowl first. The England captain, Andrew Strawss would have also liked to bowl first. This was a very special day as it was the 1000th test match played and the 100th test match played between India and England. India got a very good start as Zaheer Khan got a wicket and that too of Alaistair Cook, the man in form. He went out for 12 and England’s score was 19-1.  Zaheer Khan picked up the 2nd wicket of the English side as they lost their skipper, Andrew Strawss for 22 and the score was 62-2. After his dismissal, Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen made a very good 62 run partnership.  However, when the score was 127-2, the rain started pouring and with that the 1st day was over. India was very disappointed as Zaheer Khan, who took 2 wickets, was suffering from a hamstring injury and was out of the game.  On the next day, both the batsmen scored another 36 runs together, when this partnership was broken by Praveen Kumar. He broke a very good partnership of 98 runs as Jonathan Trott was declared out LBW. He made a very good 70[145]. They both were denied from a 100 run partnership. Kevin Petersen then went on to get his third consecutive half-century. He had played very well. The new man to come in was Ian Bell. Both Kevin Peterson and Ian Bell made a quick 110 run partnership when Praveen Kumar again broke the partnership as he dismissed Ian Bell. The new man to come in for England was Eoin Morgan. But surprisingly, he was dismissed for a duck, 0. He faced only 3 balls while he was taken behind by MS Dhoni, the captain who took a wonderful catch. Kevin Pietersen
went on to make a magnificent hundred of 201 balls. That was a brilliant innings by him. Both Matt Prior and Kevin Pietersen went on to make a 36 run stand when it was called tea. The best bowling performance till now was of Praveen Kumar, 3-85.  All the other bowlers could not bowl well like Harbajan Singh, Ishant Sharma etc except for Zaheer Khan who was not going to bowl because of a hamstring injury.  After tea, Kevin Pietersen went on to make a magnificent 150 and Matt Prior also scored an excellent 71 runs. . At this stage, Praveen Kumar took the wicket of Matt Prior. This was MS Dhoni’s 3rd catch he took in this innings. The new man to come in was Stuart Broad. Praveen Kumar got the wicket of Stuart Broad in the first ball he faced and  got a magnificent  maiden 5 wicket haul and he  also was on a hat-rick. Praveen Kumar could not get a hat-rick. Graeme Swann came in and pulled some nice boundaries, more through the onn-side. He went on to make 24 when he was clean bowled by the part time bowler, Suresh Raina.  You must  have forgotten about the not-out batsmen, Kevin Pietersen. Well, he went on to make a magnificent 202 not-out of 326 balls with 21 fours and 1 six. Chriss Tremlett also finished off with 4 not out when the England captain declared at 474-8 and gave India a huge trail of 474. India got a very good start in their first innings when both the openers started to whack the ball with a 68 run stand for the first wicket when Gautam Gambhir was clean bowled by the bowling of Stuart Broad. Abhinav Mukund batted superbly when he was clean bowled by Stuart Broad at 49 when the score was 77-2. The new man, Sachin Tendulkar got great applauses when he came in with Rahul Dravid because all the audience were waiting for his 100th ton. Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar went to make an excellent 81 run partnership. Sachin Tendukar was 4 runs ahead from his best score in lords when he was taken behind by the skipper Andrew Strauss again by the bowling of Stuart Broad who was a master in pace. He could not get his 100th hundred neither a 50 but had to depart for a well made 54 ball 34 when the score was 158-3. The new man to come in for India was VVS Laxman. Rahul Dravid went on to make a half century, again a brialliant  knock by the wall. Chriss Tremlett at last got his first man and that was VVS Laxman who had to depart for 10 when the score was 182-4. Well, you could not believe that Suresh Raina went out in the second ball by the bowling of the spinner, Graeme Swann when the score was 183-5.The new man in was the skipper, MS Dhoni.  Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni went on to make a good 58 run stand but it was broken when he was caught at  slip by Graeme Swann by the bowling of Chriss Tremlett when the  score was 241-6. The new man, Harbhajan Singh went out for a second ball duck again by the bowling of Chriss Tremlett when the score was 241 -7. The new man was Praveen Kumar. He made a run a ball 17 when Stuart Broad again struck for England and got his fourth wicket when the score was 276-8. But now the wall, Rahul Dravid celebrated as he got a magnificent hundred. He was the only man who was performing well including the youngster Abhinav Mukund [who was out]. The new man to come in was injured Zaheer Khan with Suresh Raina as a runner for him. He went out for another duck by the bowling of James Anderson who at last struggled to get a wicket and the score was 284-9.  The last man Ishant Sharma also went for a duck of the bowling of Jimmy Anderson who picked up two wickets and the Indian team was bowled out for 286 which means England had got a lead of 188 runs.  The only performer in this innings for India was Rahul Dravid, 103 not out. The best bowler for England was Stuart Broad, 4-37. England again lost Alaistair Cook early for only 1 in their second innings by the bowling of Praveen Kumar when their score was 23-1. Andrew Strauss was playing well for 32 but Harbhajan Singh got the wicket of Andrew Strawss when the score was 54-2. Suddenly, the England team started suffering from wickets. They lost Kevin Pietersen, who had made double hundred in the previous innings for only 1 and the wicket was credited to Ishant Sharma when the score was 55-3. After that they lost Ian Bell for 0 again by the bowling of Ishant Sharma when the score was 55-4. After that, Jonathan Trott had to depart for 22 again of the bowling of Ishant Sharma when the score was 62-5. This pitch [for bowling] was much suitable than the first innings pitch for India. But after that a slow 45 run partnership between Eoin Morgan and Matt Prior helped England a bit but a brilliant catch by Gautam Gambhir and  again some fine bowling by Ishant Sharma ensured them get, Eoin Morgan’s wicket.  The whole England team were struggling when they were on 105-6 but after Stuart Broad came in with Matt Prior, there was a change in the innings. Both of them scored made a partnership of 162 runs. Matt Prior stayed at not-out, 103 while Stuart Broad not-out,74 helped England a lot to make an unbeatable 162 run stand and declared on 269-6 and set a huge target for the Indian team,458 to win. As you know, England had declared two times in a match which is a very good record. India needed 458 to win in 188 overs. Gautam Gambhir had an injured finger so Rahul Dravid opened for India with Abhinav Mukund. India did not get a good start as they lost the youngster, Abhinav Mukund early on as he had to depart for 12 when the score was 19-1 again by the bowling of Stuart Broad. Therefore, India did not get a good start but after that the man who scored a hundred in the first innings[Rahul Dravid] ,stood tall and made a cracking  75 run stand between him and VVS Laxman. But after that some very good bowling by James Anderson produced them the key wicket of the wall, Rahul Dravid who made his way back to the pavilion and realized that he should not have played that shot which went straight to the wicket-keeper Matt Prior when the score now was 94-2. The new man to come in was not Tendulkar, infact Gautham Gambhir. Well VVS Laxman got to a very nice half century but after that was again treated the right way as James Anderson again bowled the right yorker which went straight to the hands of the gully fielder,Ian bell and VVS Laxman had to depart for a well made 56  and now the score was 131-3. The new man to come in was Sachin Tendulkar, and the crowd was going wild because this time they were sure that he would make his 100th ton. Gautam Gambhir was looking in good touch but at last again had to depart from the bowling of the off-spinner, Graeme Swann for 22 and the score was now turning around, 135-4. The new man to come in was Suresh Raina. Well the India crowd suddenly got a silence. I think you must know why! Well, Sachin Tendulkar again had to depart for making only 12 runs again of the bowling of James Anderson when the score was now going down for a big lose and somebody needed to give India a  nice end as the score now is 165-5 another 293 to win with 5 wickets in hand. MS Dhoni and especially Suresh Raina provided some cheering to the crowd as they made an excellent 60 run stand together, but Chriss Tremlett again struck for England as the ball went straight behind to the wicket-keeper Matt Prior to send MS Dhoni, the skipper back to the pavilion. The new man to come in was Harbhajan Singh. But Suresh Raina got to an excellent half century and told the people how he can play test cricket so well. Harbhajan Singh was been dismissed again by the bowling of Jimmy Anderson when he was at 12 and the score now was 243-7 and England already were prepared for a very thrilling victory. The new man to come in for India at number 9 was Praveen Kumar.  Praveen Kumar had to depart early by a very good full toss   by Stuart Broad which landed straight to the wicket and he had to depart for 2 and now well they were 256-8 and now India were ready for a big lose. Well, their big hope who they thought will make a ton, Suresh Raina had to depart but he deserved a ton but the Indian team have to lose a big match today as James Anderson got his 5th 5 wicket haul.  Ishant Sharma had to depart and England won a very big match, by 196 runs and lead the 4 test match series 0-1 as Stuart Broad struck the last wicket for England and the celebrations had started already in England but the Indian fans have their faces down.  Dhoni thought the match had started well for them but losing Zaheer was a big blow for them and Andrew Strawss was very happy with his team’s excellent all-round performance. The  man of the match was given to Kevin Pietersen for his superb  202 in the first innings but failed in the second innings .But ,let us tell you one thing that if england win 2 more matches then from number 3 they will jump up to no 1.

2nd test

Welcome,  all of you to the second test between England and India at Trentbriridge, Nottingham  in England as you know the England team had won the last match by a huge amount,196 runs. Well , Mahendra Singh Dhoni had won the toss and had again elected to field as the pitch was dry and rough and pace bowlers could get some bounce there. So these are both the teams-

India                                                england

1.       Abhinav Mukund                                                           1. Andrew Strawss
2.       Rahul Dravid                                                                   2. Alaistair Cook

11.   Ishant Sharma                                                                 11. Eoin Morgan.
12.   The Indian team
13.   2 changes in their team as they have Yuvraj Singh in for  injured  Gautam Gambhir and  Shreeshanth  came in for Zaheer Khan who is suffering from a hamstring. The rest of the team is same as harbhajan singh who picked up only 1 wicket in the first test has got a chance to play another match whereas england have 1 change that is a big blow for them. Chriss tremlett is out from an injury and they have Tim Bresnan in to their squad. India got a very good and very unexpected start as they took the wicket of Alairstair Cook again as he went back to the pavalion for scoring only 2 runs by some very superb bowling by Ishant Sharma and England now are 7-1. Well Jonathan Trott again failed with the bat scoring only 4 runs as Sreeshanth struck for india early on and now England were in deep trouble, 23-2.  Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strawss  scored a good 50 run stand between them but after  that Sreeshanth bowled a perfect yorker which went straight to third slip to suresh raina and that was the end of the man who scored a 202 in the last match ,kevin pietersen and the score now was 73-3. Well andrew strawss again had to depart for 32 with some very fine bowling by praveen kumar and again went to suresh raina at third slip and the score now was  85-4 and england now have lost 2 wickets in quick succession.  Eoin morgan  had to depart and praveen kumar struck 2 in an over as he went out again for a 3rd ball duck and now the whole stadium is silent and the indian fans are in joy.now england  are in deep trouble because they have again lost matt prior, the man who is fresh from a 100 at lords  has to depart for only 1 and now the england team are in trouble 88-6 and sreesanth is on fire as he has struck his 3rd wicket. Well, they had big hope on ian bell but he had to sadly depart for 31 of the bowling of  ishant sharma and now england 124-7. England were as usual struggling as they their last batting hope, tim bresnan for 11 and now england  are now struggling as they are 128-8. Well you could never believe that after having such a bad start, stuart broad made a magneficient 69 run stand between him and graeme swann as stuart broad got to an excellent 50 of just 44 balls which was his  second consecutive 50. After that they lost graeme swann for 28 as now the score from 128-8 is 197-9. Well stuart broad had to even depart after playing a fine knock of 64 of just 66 balls as he was taken by sachin tendulkar of the bowling of harbhajan singh as england were all out for 221. Well, at one stage england were 128-8 wickets ,after that a fierce partnership  between graeme swann and stuart broad helped them reach 221, which is still not a very big score. The bowling well three wickets each for sreeshanth, ishant sharma and praveen kumar but the pick of the bowlers was praveen kumar who got a 3-45 in his 2 overs at the net run rate of only 2.04 per over. Well india were stunned with the start they got as they lost mukund at the first ball of the innings itself. The new batsmen was vvs laxman who came like an opener. Well, both vvs laxman and rahul dravid made a fantastic 93 run stand together as they lost vvs laxman whoi again had to depart making a fine knock of 54 as the indian team were 93-2. Well rahul sravid made again a very good 50 which came just in time when india were in deep trouble.  Well they had to lose tendulkar again for 16 as india now were  again in trouble as the score was 119-3. Dhoni had sent raina in and not yuvraj singh. As usual, their big hope was again not fulfilled as raina had to depart for 12 and the score 139-4. Well, yuvraj singh helped rahul dravid a lot as rahul dravid got his 34th ton, and yuvraj even scored a magnificient 66 as he had to depart  of  some very good bowling by stuart broad who now had got his second wicket and the score now was  267-5 and india had a lead of 46 runs. Well dhoni had to depart for 5 again of the bowling of stuart broad as he got his third wicket and the score was 273-6. Well stuart broad got a magneficient hat rick which is not performed by not many of pace bowlers as he got a lbw of harbhajan singh and cleaned praveen kumar over and all the england players were jumping around him.  Well india were I think now losing wickets in a quick streak as they lost rahul dravid for an excellent 117 and now the score was 273-9. And at last after some boundries by Sreesanth and Sharma, India were all out for 288 and they got a lead of  67 runs. Well, India s middle order except for Rahul Dravid, including yuvraj singh and VVS laxman  had done very well. In the bowling, Stuart Broad was the star as he got his career best figure 6-46 as Anderson and Bresnan even shared 2 wickets each. Well, England as usual again started a poor start as they lost Alaistair  Cook  for 5 of some very good bowling of Ishant sharma, and the score was 6-1. Well ,England started with a poor start but Ian Bell put many boundries on the onn-side and gave them an excellent 51 stand between him and captain Strauss as they lost their captain for 16 from a very slow bowling by sreesanth and it went straight to the wicket-keeper Dhoni and the score was 57-2. Well Kevin pietersen came and hit many boundries for his 54th 50 as Ian Bell raced to a half century as the huge partnership was broken by Sreesanth who got the wicket of Kevin Pietersen for 63 and the score was 219-3. Well, eoin morgan raced to a 50 of 60 balls as Ian bell got a magneficient ton of just 138 balls but there was one thing very interesting in this partnership! When Ian Bell was on 133, and it was the last ball before tea , Ian Bell hit a shot which looked like a 4, but their was no signal from the umpire as Praveen Kumar through the ball when Ian bell was going back for tea and the bails were broken! Well the umpire went up stars for the review and it was given out`! But after they came back from tea, Ian Bell came back in to the field! Do you know why? Well,  the Indian captain, MS Dhoni called ian bell back in because he knew that in the game of cricket, cheating is not aloud. Well, dhoni has been given the ICC SPIRIT OF CRICKET AWARD for his spirit in this match. Well Ian Bell go to 159 when he was been dismissed by  the off spinner-Yuvraj Singh  after a very good innings and the score was 323-4 and had a lead of a huge 256 runs. Well, they had to again lose a wicket as they lost Eoin Morgan of the bowling of Praveen Kumar as he had to depart for 70 of 88 balls and the score was 329-4. Well Jonathan Trott had to even depart for2 as Praveen Kumar got his 2nd wicket and were now in trouble,339-6. Well  Matt Prior raced to a half century of only 33 balls as he and Bresnan got a big 119 run stand as they lost Matt Prior for 73 and the score was  458-7 and England got a lead of 391 runs.  Well, Tim Bresnan had got a half century as he made a good 82 run stand with Broad as broad had to depart for an entertaining 44 and the score was 540-8. Well, Tim Bresnan again could not make a century as he departed for 90 and the score was 540-9 as they lost  Graeme Swann for 3 and England were all out for an excellent 544. This was a very interesting innings indeed as we saw some very good spirit by the Indian captain MS Dhoni. England gave india a target of  473 runs and England again were in a sight of a victory. The best bowling figures for India was Praveen Kumar who got 4-124  as Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth got 2 wicket each and the  left arm off spinner, Yuvraj Singh got 1 wicket and that also of Ian Bell. Well,  India got one of the most horrid starts as they had to lose Rahul Dravid for 6 and  VVS Laxman for 4 as  Stuart broad and Jimmy Anderson got a wicket each and also the key wickets and the score  was 13-2. They lost Abhinav Mukund for  3 again of the bowling of Tim Bresnan and the score was now 33-3.  Well, India continued to lose wickets as they lost Suresh Raina again of the bowling of Tim Bresnan and the score was 37-4. Well, Yuvraj Singh tried to hit the boundries but he  had to depart for 8 and the score was 55-5 and the captain, MS Dhoni had to depart the next ball as Tim bresnan was on a hat rick and the score now was 55-6 and looking like India will be bowled out before hundred . well, india had got an entertaining partnership between Sachin Tendulkar and  Harbhajan Singh as the croud lit up because Sachin Tendulkar  scored a  50 as the crowd thought he would make a  hundredth ton but again he was denied as  he had to depart for 56 and Tim Bresnan got a maiden 5 wicket haul as the score now was 107 -7 and India were ready for a big lose. Well,Harbhajan Singh was denied from  a half century as he had to depart for quite an entertaining 46 and India, 129-8. Well, india lost both Praveen kumar and sreesanth as they were all-out for a miserable 158 and England won one of their biggest victory,319 runs. The pick of the bowlers for England was Tim Bresnan who got a 5-48  in his 12 overs .  Well Dhoni was been given the spirit of the match a s he told that the pitch was working much better for  pace bowling Praveen kumar got 7 wickets but the batting was not good for India. The man of the match was been given to Stuart Broad for his extraodiniary all rounded performance. Well, with this victory England lead the series 2-0 with 2 matches to go and if they win the 3rd test then they will not only win the series but will jump up To no 1 in the icc test rankings.

                          3rd TEST
So we all are ready for the 3rd Test  match  in this series which is being held at the Edgabston, Birmingham as England lead the series 2-0. Well this time, the England captain Andrew Strawss won the toss and elected to bowl first  as he thought the pitch would bounce well for spin as Dhoni would have elected to bat first and  now  he had to do that! These are both the teams for the third test-

Well, these are both the teams. Well, India have more injuries in their side as Yuvraj and Harabhajan Singh were injured as  Zaheer Khan is not fit for the series. Well, India have three changes in their team. They  have the entertainer, Sehwag in for Abhinav Mukund and Gautam  Gambhir in for  Yuvraj Singh and the leg-spinner, Amit  Mishra in for Harbajhan  Singh. England have one crucial change in their team. They have Ravi Bopara in for the injured  Jonathan Trott. Well the Indian team got one of the worst starts as they lost Virender Sehwag for a first ball duck as  Stuart Broad got a wicket on the first ball of his spell and the score was 8-1. India got a good 2nd wicket partnership between Gambhir   and  Dravid of 51 as Gambhi r was playing well for 38 when he was been dismissed by  Tim Bresnan as he aimed at the wicket and clean  bowled him in the off stump. The new   batsmen to come in was Sachin Tendulkar. Well, Tendulkar again failed and kept the stadium quite as he went for only 1 and the score now was 60-3. England had already thought that they bowl out india early as they got the big wicket of Rahul Dravid who had to go for 22 and now India were 75-4 and some very good bowling again by Tim Bresnan who picked up his second wicket.  Well, Vvs Laxman started to hit the boundries   but Suresh Raina had to depart for 4  again of the bowling of James Anderson and india was  in deep trouble as they were 92-5. VVS  Laxman  had to even depart for  30 again of the bowling of  Tim Bresnan who picked up his 3rd wicket and India were  100-6. Well , Amit Mishra had to depart after getting four runs again of the very good pace of  Stuart Broad and India needed some partnership here. Praveen Kumar and Dhoni ,made a very  big stand of 84 runs which India needed and Dhoni got to his 41st half century in his career. Praveen Kumar made a very good 26 of 39 balls with four boundries and 1 six as he was taken by Matt Prior of the bowling of  Tim Bresnan who got his fourth wicket and India 8 down for 195. Captain, Dhoni  got an excellent half century which helped  India a lot but when he was   at 77, 23 away from a hundred was taken by Matt Prior behind  of the bowling of Stuart  Broad who picked up four wickets now and India were 224-9. India were all out for  224 as James Anderson got the final wicket . Well, India were  at one stage struggling with 111-7, but the partnership between Dhoni  and Praveen Kumar helped India to reach 224. Well, in the bowling the pick of the bowlers were Stuart  Broad ,4-53 and Tim Bresnan, 4-62 and James Anderson, 2-69. The spinner, Graeme Swann  again could not pick up a wicket. England now have a trail of 224 runs . Well, England got a   magnificent  186 run stand between Alaister Cook  and  Andrew Strauss   as the captain had to depart with making 86 of the bowling of Amit  Mishra and  india finally got the breakthrough and England was 186-1. Well, the man who could not get many runs in this series so far, Alaistair Cook got to a magnificent 100 of 201 balls and kept on going when the partnership between him and Ian Bell was over  as  Praveen Kumar bouled Ian Bell over and England are 252-2 and get a lead of 28 runs. Well, England got a huge partnership between Kevin Pietersen and Alaistair Cook as  Kevin Pietersen got to his second consecutive half century  as he and Cook made a  122 run stand as it was broken by Praveen Kumar as he lbw Kevin Pietersen for 63 and England were 374-3 and they got a huge lead of 150 runs. The new man to come in was Eoin Morgan.  Alaistair Cook went on to ,make an excellent  double hundred  and well,  Eoin Morgan  went to make his 2nd century in test cricket and the huge 222 run stand between Alaistair Cook and  Morgan was broken by the part time bowler, Suresh Raina   and Eoin Morgan was been dismissed  and the score was 596-4 and England now have got a lead of 372 runs. Well,  Ravi Bopara was been dismissed  early for 7  of the bowling of Amit Mishra who got his second wicket and the score was  605-5. Matt Prior was even been dismissed for 5  again of the bowling of Amit Mishra who got his third wicket and England  were 613-6. Well, Tim Bresnan got a magneficient 53 not out of  75 balls when Alaistair Cook was been dismissed for 294, 6 runs away from a deserving triple hundred and Ishant Sharma at last got a wicket to his name and England declare  for 710-7 and got a huge lead of 486 runs that looks like India will lose an innings game here in Edgabston.  Well, what a fine innings by Alaistair Cook who got a 294 runs and Eoin Morgan who even scored a 105. In the bowlers side, nothing  went in favour of India as the pick of the bowlers was Amit  Mishra, 3-150 as Sreesanth failed as he was 0-158. So India now have a trail of  486 runs. Well again India could not get to a good start as Sehwag had to depart for a king pair as he had to depart for another 1st ball duck this time struck by James  Anderson who got his first wicket in the second ball of the innings and India 3-1. India now had to lose  Gambhir for 14 again of the bowling of James Anderson  and India will now have to lose an innings match as they are 35-2. Well, India s main hope was even not satisfied as they had to lose Rahul Dravid for 18 and James Anderson is in front of a very good  spell and India are 40-3,have a trail of a 446 runs. Well, they had to lose  VVS Laxman for 2 and India are 56-4. Well, Suresh Raina was playing well for 10  with Tendulkar as Raina had to depart   and very good length ball by Graeme Swann who at last got a wicket and India are 87-5. Well, Sachin was playing well for 40 when he was run out by Graeme Swann as Dhoni wanted to hit it straight but landed into the stumps and India are 89-6. Well, India got some cheer after some cracking boundries by Amit Mishra and Dhoni who made a 41 run stand  together which was broken by Graeme Swann who got his second wicket and India are 130-6 and the  England fans  know that this will be a big victory for them. But, Praveen Kumar started  taking the balls up for another partnership with Dhoni as he got a run a ball 40 of just 18 balls but again was looking to drive it up but was taken safely by Ravi Bopara of the bowling of Stuart Broad and India are 205-7. Well, Dhoni went on to make runs  and he got his second consecutive half century but which could not help the Indian team as they lost their 9th wicket for  221 of some very good bowling by Stuart Broad and India were at last all out for 244 and England got a victory of  an innings and 242 runs  as Dhoni s 74 not out did not help the team as he did not have a partner to bat with. Well, the man of the match was been given to  Alaistair Cook for his superb knock of 294 which was his best score in test cricket. The Indian captain said that  we did not do a good all-round performance in this and England deserve to win this one. The England captain said that Cook had done a perfect job for his team and we did a superb all round performance. Well, England now have one the serried 0-3 with one match to go and are the no 1 side in the ICC Test Cricket Rankings!

4th  TEST

We are all set for the fourth  and final test between India and England held in the Oval, London. The England team lead the series 3-0 and if they win this one they will  be the official no 1 in ICC Test Cricket Rankings. England again have won the toss and elected to bat first. These are both the teams for the third test-

        INDIA                                          ENGLAND

1.       GAUTAM GAMBHIR                                                            1. ANDREW STRAWSS[CAPTAIN]

2.       VIRENDER SEHWAG                                                             2. ALAISTAIR COOK
3.       RAHUL DRAVID                                                                      3. IAN BELL
4.       SACHIN TENDULKAR                                                             4. KEVIN PIETERSEN
5.       VVS LAXMAN                                                                          5. RAVI BOPARA
6.       SURESH RAINA                                                                        6. MATT PRIOR
7.       MS DHONI[CAPTAIN]                                                             7. STUART BROAD
8.       R.P SINGH                                                                                 8. TIM BRESNAN
9.       PRAVEEN KUMAR                                                                    9. GRAEME SWANN
10.   ISHANT SHARMA                                                                    10. EOIN MORGAN
11.   SREESANTH                                                                               11. JAMES ANDERSON
So   these are both the teams for the fourth test between India and England.  India have 1 change in their team. They have RP Singh  coming in for  Praveen Kumar  and the England team  are unchanged.  The England team got an excellent start as they were 75-0 as Cook was batting on  32 and Strawss  on 38 as the rain started coming and the day was over. But, Ishant Sharma struck in the first over of the next  day as he got Alaistair Cook, the  run machine for 34 and India  got an excellent start to the day as England were 75-1. India kept on bowling  well as they got the captain Strauss even and Sreesanth  got  a wicket in his first  over of the day and England now were in trouble as they lost both their openers as Strauss could make 40 and the score was 97-2.  England came right back in to the game as they got a huge 350 run stand between Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen as  both of them scored successive centuries  with putting many boundries on the onn- side as both of them were right handers and mostly preferred onn- side as at last India was provided the break by the part time bowler, Suresh Raina  who got Kevin Pietersen for 175 and England  had a very big score still, 447-3. James Anderson was called in instead of Eoin Morgan as he could make only 13 as  Sreesanth got his second wicket and England were 480-4. Ian Bell went on to make his  first double century in his career which came of 303 balls . England had to lose Eoin Morgan who could make only 1 run and England were 487-5. Suresh Raina came in and provided another very important breakthrough and that also of  Ian Bell who played a fascinating innings of 235 runs and it seems like Suresh Raina is doing much better  bowling then batting and the England score was 548-6. The England team declared for 591-6 as Ravi Bopara was 44 not out and Matt Prior was 18 not out. The Indian team bounced back after  the breakthrough  of Kevin  Pietersen    who made a brilliant 175 but the best batsmen for England was Ian Bell who made  235 runs . Suresh Raina got 2 very important wickets of Pietersen and Bell. RP Singh could not succeed with the bowl as he was 0-118 in his 34 overs as Ishant  Sharma got 1-97 in his 31 overs but the pick of the bowlers was  Sreesanth, 3-123 who was costly but bowled much better than in the third test match. India again could not succeed with Virender Sehwag  as he made 8 of 5 balls  when James Anderson LBW him and he again could not bat well and the score was 8-1. Gautam Gambhir was been sent in at 7 because he had an injury in his hand so Rahul Dravid was been sent up the order. India had to continue the same old story as they lost VVS Laxman for 2 and India now were 13-2  Stuart Broad got his first wicket and India were 13-2 and had a trail of 578 runs. India got a good 55 run stand between Tendulkar and Dravid which was broken by Graeme Swann as he got Tendulkar who had to wait for a much longer time to get his 100th ton in his career as he went for 23 and india were 68-3, had a trail of 523 runs. Suresh Raina was really struggling as he had to go  for a 29 ball duck as Graeme Swann bowled a very beautiful  delivery which went to the wicketkeeper, Matt Prior  who stumped it very easily and India were in trouble, 93-4. Ishant Sharma, the bowler  came in at 6 and could make a run as Graeme Swann picked up the wicket with a beauty and  India were  95-5. Rahul Dravid , the only man who was performing well in the series went on to make a half century which helped India  a lot as a good partnership was building but they had to lose Dhoni of the Bowling of Jimmy Anderson , who bowled a beauty which went to Matt Priors hands as he had to depart for 17 and India were  137-6. The new man to come in was Amit Mishra who  did not bowl well as his figures in the first innings were 0-168 but he can bat. Rahul Dravid made a fantastic hundred which was his third in the series and made a huge 87 run stand with Amit  Mishra  as Amit Mishra  was playing very well for 43 when  Tim Bresnan got the wicket they needed and Rahul Dravid gave a pat on the shoulder of Amit Mishra for playing so well and India were 224-7. Gautam Gambhir stayed in the crease for a very long time  as he made only 10 runs in his 63 balls with one boundary as he was taken by Kevin Pietersen on second slip and India were now 264-8. RP Singh came in and put many boundries  as he made 25 of 23 balls when he was taken by James Anderson of the bowling of Tim Bresnan who got his second wicket  and India for the first time in the series reach 300 as they  lost Sreesanth even in the same over and India were all out for exactly 300. This was the first time in the series India have reach 300. The best batsmen for India was Rahul Dravid who was 146 not out and batting past 2 days which is not done by many players as he will be coming back to the crease after some time because India are been asked to follow on and they have a trail of 291 runs. India wanted Sehwag to stay in the crease for a long time as he pulled the first ball of James Anderson out of the ropes for a 4 as India got to a flying start as James Anderson costed 9 runs of the first over. Sehwag was playing many of his favourite shots as both him and Dravid made a 49 run stand together as at last Swann striked for them as Rahul Dravid went for a fabulous, knock with the bat. Not in this innings but he has stayed in the crease for many hours together as first the decision was not out but England took the DRS and the decision was reversed to out as they were seeing that was there a nick to the bat and went to the gully fielder Alastair Cook as he went for 13 and India were 49-1. Sehwag was in good touch but Graeme Swann again bowled a beauty which went straight to the stump and he went out for 33 and India were 64-2. The new man to come in was Sachin Tendulkar and everyone clapped for him because he is going to play his last test match in England. Vvs Laxman was playing well as he got three consecutive boundries of Graeme Swann but he had to even depart for 24 as Anderson bowled  a beauty which went straight on to the off stump and he was bowled and India were 118-3. The new man to come in was Amit Mishra .Sachin  Tendulkar went to make a half century which made the Indian fans very happy.  Both Amit Mishra and Tendulkar  kept on taking runs as Amit Mishra got to a half century as both of them were playing very well with a 144 run stand which was at last broken by Graeme Swann who got his third wicket and Amit Mishra missed out with a deserving hundred. The Indian crowd were now very silent because India had lost Sachin Tendulkar for 91 and now he had to wait for a much longer time as Bresnan bowled a very good ball to him and he gave a big appeal for lbw and the finger went up straight away and India now are 262-5 and had a trail of 30 runs . India lost Suresh Raina for another duck and India were now in deep trouble as Graeme Swann got his fourth wicket and India  were 266-6. India last hope was even gone as they lost their captain for 3 and India now were 269-7. Graeme Swann got a magnificent 5 wicket haul as he got Gautam Gambhir for 3 and Stuart Broad got RP Singh for a duck, England were one wicket away from a series whitewash as both Sreesanth and Sharma started putting boundaries but England won that match by an innings and 8 runs as Graeme Swann got the final wicket of Sreesanth and India were all out for 283 and England are now the official no.1 in the test rankings. At one stage the match looked like a draw but at the end England won a stunning game. Dhoni said that the England team deserve to win this one and Strauss is very proud of his team as they are now no1 in tests. The man of the match was given to Ian Bell for his superb knock of 235 in the first innings. The man of the series was been given to Stuart Broad and Rahul Dravid. So,the England team have one the nPower series 4-0 but there are the ODI and T20 series to go , so can India  bounce back ?

                                                        1 T20

So we are all set for the only T20 match between India and England at the Old Trafford, Manchester in England. England had one the Test series 4-0 but here India have a chance to bounce back even. In this ODI and T20 series many players are injured so India have Ajinkya  Rahane and Varun  Aaron who may be making their debut in this series .But their is one very suprising thing in this ODI and T20 series! India have Rahul Dravid coming in for injured Gautam Gambhir and he will be playing his last T20 match today and his last ODI series even! India won the toss and elected to  bat first. The England captain, Alastair Cook is happy to field first. These are both the teams for the only T20-

         INDIA                                          ENGLAND

1.       PARTHIV PATEL                                                                      1]ALEX HALES

8.       PRAVEEN KUMAR                                                                  8. STUART BROAD[CAPTAIN]
9.       RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN                                                     9. TIM BRESNAN
10.   VINAY KUMAR                                                                         10. GRAEME SWANN
11.   MUNAF PATEL                                                                           11. JADE DERNBACH

So these are both the teams for the T20. India have Ajinkya Rahane who will be on his debut as they don’t have  Varun Aaron. England have both Alex Hales and  and Jos Buttler on their debut because their is no Alaistair Cook. India got a very good start by both Parthiv Patel and the debutant Ajinkya Rahane  as both of them added 39 runs when Jade Dernbach bowled a faster bowl which went in the air and safely into the hands of the captain, Stuart Broad. India got a very useful   65 run stand between Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane   as Rahul Dravid got three sixes in a row of the bowling of  Samit Patel  but at last England got a wicket as  Ravi Bopara got a wicket and the entertaining innings came to an end and India were 104-2.  Ajinkya Rahane had got a dream debut as he got  61 of only 39 balls as the England captain, Stuart  Broad got a wicket and Rahane had to depart after playing a very fine knock and India were 106-3 and in the same over they lost Virat Kohli for 1 and the score now  was 108-4 and India were in deep trouble. India lost Rohit Sharma for only 1 as Graeme Swann bowled a beauty which went to Kieswetter and he took the bails of easily and England were right back into the game and  India were 117-5. Both Dhoni and Raina  made a good 41 run stand which included 2 sixes by Suresh Raina as they lost their captain for 8 again by a slower delivery by Dernbach  which went straight into the hands of Alex Hales at mid-onn and India were 158-6. Ravichandran  Ashwin hit a first ball four but in the second ball he was run out by Jade Dernbach and India were 162-7. Suresh Raina had to even depart after playing a fine 33 as Tim bresnan bowled a faster ball which went straight into the hands of Stuart Broad and India were 162-8. Praveen Kumar even had to depart after a beauty by Jade Dernbach who got his third wicket  and  they lost Munaf Patel who departed in his first ball he faced and India were  all-out for a good total,165 but the star for India was Ajinkya Rahane who got  61 and that also in his first match and the star for England in the bowling was Jade Dernbach who got 4-22 in his 3.4 overs and the target for England was 166 runs to win in 20 overs. England got a very poor start as they lost Alex Hales in the second ball of the innings as Praveen Kumar lbw him nicely and Alex Hales did not get a very successful debut and  England were 0-1. There was a good 58 run stand between Kieswetter and Kevin Pietersen  when Munaf Patel got the breakthrough for India as Kieswetter loft to take the ball up but went straight into the hands of Suresh Raina and England were 58-2. The game was going tense as England lost their set batsmen, Kevin Pietersen for 33 as the part time bowler, Virat Kohli got a wicket and England were 61-3, England needed more 105 runs to win with 78 balls left. Eoin Morgan came in and hit the balls very nicely but when he was in 49 , 1 run away from a fifty, Rohit Sharma took a wonderful catch which was very low and the third umpire went upstairs and Munaf Patel gave a very vital break for India but it was a bit late as England needed 31 more to win with 29 balls to go. Both Samit Patel  and Ravi Bopara ended the match in style as Patel put three boundries in a row and England won the only T20 match by six wickets with three bowls to spare as Samit Patel finished of with 25 not out and Ravi Bopara on 31 not out and India still have not one a single match in this series but they still have the ODI series to come. The Indian captain, Dhoni  said that the batting was very gloomy after the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane and the bowlers even did well but spin was not successful. The England T20 captain, Stuart Broad said that there was a lot of bounce in this pitch as Dernbach got 4 wickets and the spin  could even work with only one wicket that Swann got.  The match of the match of the game  was Jade Dernbach for his excellent 4-31. India have lost 5 matches in this series so far but can India win the ODI series! We may have to see but for now its England who are the favourites!

                                                        1stODI
So, we are all set for the first ODI between England and India. The England captain has won the toss and has elected to bowl first as the pitch spun very nicely. The Indian captain would have elected to bat first because they had  a lot of boundaries hear before in Chester-Lee-Street. These are both the teams for the first test-

INDIA                                                             ENGLAND

1.       PARTHIV PATEL                                                                                 1. ALAISTAIR COOK  [CAPTAIN]
2.       AJINKYA RAHANE                                                                              2. CRAIG KIESWETTER
3.       RAHUL DRAVID                                                                                  3. JONATHAN TROTT
4.       VIRAT KOHLI                                                                                       4. IAN BELL
5.       SURESH RAINA                                                                                   5. EOIN MORGAN
6.       MS DHONI[CAPTAIN]                                                                         6. BEN STOKES
7.       PRAVEEN KUMAR                                                                               7.  SAMIT PATEL
8.       RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN                                                                 8. TIM  BRESNAN
9.       VINAY KUMAR                                                                                   9.  STUART BROAD
10.   MUNAF PATEL                                                                                     10. JAMES ANDERSON
11.   ROHIT SHARMA                                                                                   11. JADE DERNBACH
India has a very surprising team and sad team as Sachin Tendulkar is out of the series because of a toe injury which made the fans very upset as India have an unchanged team. India have Gautam Gambhir  and Virender Sehwag out of the series too and Ravindra  Jadeja and Manoj Tiwary are replacing them in the series. England have no Graeme Swann in this match because of a stomach ache and Ben Stokes will be on his debut as Kevin Pietersen   is out of the series and James Anderson replaces Graeme Swann.  India had an extraordinary start as both  Ajinkya Rahane and Parthiv Patel gave them a 80 run stand when the debutant who again had played well for 40 when he was taken by Samit Patel on the ropes as Stuart Broad got the first wicket. Rahul Dravid was again very unlucky as Stuart Broad again bowled a slower ball which went into the wicketkeepers hands as the umpire had given it not out but England took the DRS and the decision was reversed to out as their was just a nick in the bat and India were 87-2. Parthiv Patel went on to make runs, but when he was on 95 runs, 5 away from his first century he was taken by Kieswetter behind the stumps as  the 103 run stand was broken between him and Kohli as Parthiv just missed out with a well deserved hundred and India were 190-3. Virat Kohli went to make a very successful half century but when he was on 55, he was clean bowled by Samit Patel who got his first wicket and India were 206-4, their current target will be somewhere about 300-305. Both Raina and captain Dhoni gave India a good 60 run stand including some  huge sixes  by Suresh Raina  when Jade Dernbach bowled  a faster delivery which went straight into the hand  of alaistair cook and India were 266-6. The bad news for India was that  Rohit Sharma faced only 1 ball and went back because of a broken finger and he will be out of the series and their will be another replace and that is that S. Badhrinath  is going to replace him. Tim Bresnan got Dhoni out for 33 as in the next ball, Ravichandran Ashwin had to depart in the first ball he faced but Tim Bresnan could not make a hat-rick as in 50 overs India made a good 274-7 and the target for England is 275 to win in 50 overs which will not be easy but England will try to get it away. Parthiv Patel was the best batsmen for India  but he could not make a hundred but  still it was his best score in one-day cricket. India got a early wicket and that too of the captain, Alaistair Cook in the third over as Praveen Kumar got the breakthrough and they lost Kieswetter even of the bowling of Praveen  Kumar when the rain  started coming and England were restricted to 27-2 as India got a

good start but the match was abandoned and India were very unlucky for that because they could have won a match today so meet you next time in the 2nd ODI.

                                                          2nd ODI

The second ODI in the N Power  ODI series between India and England will take place but there is a news that the rain  is pouring heavily in the Rose Bowl, Southampton in England so there will be a  bit of delay for this match as it was taken by the DL Method and the game was  changed to only 23 overs  per  side. Again England had won the toss and had  again  elected to bowl first. These are both the teams for the second ODI.

12.   MUNAF PATEL                                                                                     11. JADE DERNBACH
So these are both the teams for the second ODI. India  have Manoj Tiwary coming in for injured Rohit Sharma  and England have Ravi Bopara coming in for Jonathan Trott. India got a good start by Parthiv Patel who hit many boundries of the bowling of Anderson and Bresnan and two flat sixes of the bowling of Tim Bresnan but  when he was on 28 he was taken by Kieswetter  behind the stumps by a good faster delivery from James Anderson and India were 30-1. India got a good stand between Rahane and  Dravid  when James Anderson took a good catch  of the bowling of Graeme Swann as India lost Rahul Dravid for 32 as India were 109-2. Virat Kohli could only make 9 runs in the match taken easily by Ian Bell as Graeme Swann got his second wicket and India were 125-3. Ajinkya Rahene had played another very fascinating innings as he got his maiden half century  in ODI but Graeme Swann bowled a much better delivery as he took a catch of his own bowling as Ajinkya Rahane played another good innings of 54 and India were 143-4. Suresh Raina got a very entertaining  40 of only 19 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes  but  all his partners failed as Dhoni even had to depart  for 6 as Tim Bresnan got another important wicket and India were 164-5.  At last, Suresh Raina had to depart for 40 as Tim Bresnan who was very expensive first but now he has picked up 2 important wickets and India were 182-6. Manoj  Tiwary was looking good but Tim Bresnan got  his third wicket as Tiwary taken by Ian bell and India were  186-7 as England got a wicket in the final ball of the innings as Praveen Kumar  hit the shot to the wicketkeeper, Kieswetter as  Ravichandran  Ashwin had to depart as he was run-out and India in 23 overs got a good 187-8 and that means that England have a target of 188 runs in 23 overs which will not be an easy job  but England got a cracking start as Kieswetter  got a fine 46 of only 25 balls with 4 fours and 3 huge sixes  but Vinay Kumar bowled a good delivery to dismiss him as it hit him in the pad, a huge appeal and the umpire straight away gave it out and England were 67-1. Ian Bell came in and put some cracking boundries but he  was taken by a good catch  by Kohli on extra cover as he had to depart for 25 and the England scoreboard was 105-2. Alaistair Cook, the captain got a good half century of only 34 balls  as he got a good 60 run stand with Ravi Bopara but Bopara was dismissed  for 24 again by a good catch by Virat Kohli as Ashwin got his second wicket but it was too late for India as Cook finished of the game in style as he made a magnificent 80 of 63 balls and led England to a  7 wicket victory and to lead the series 1-0. India again could not win this match as England chased down 188 very easily.  The man of the match for this match was Alaistair Cook who made a fantastic 80 not out. England lead the 5 match series 1-0 so meet you in the next match.

                                                                    3RD ODI

So we are all set for the 3rd ODI between India and England which is held at the Oval, London in England. England the five match series 1-0 and India still have not won a single match in this tour of England and will look to win this one.  The weather was looking like there would be some rain in between the match and the pitch was very rough and had many cracks. England again had won the toss and they as usual elected to bowl as India were too unlucky. There may be  some curios changes in the Indian  team but England wouldn’t mind it and will look to go on their merry way as India s most sad thing is that that there  is no Zaheer Khan,Y uvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and mainly Sachin Tendulkar in this ODI series but many youngsters are coming in for them. These are both the teams for the 3rd ODI.

        INDIA                                                     ENGLAND

1.       PARTHIV PATEL                                                                  1. ALAISTAIR COOK[CAPTAIN]
2.       AJINKYA RAHANE                                                               2. CRAIG KIESWETTER
3.       RAHUL DRAVID                                                                   3. JONATHAN TROTT
4.       VIRAT KOHLI                                                                         4.  IAN BELL
5.       SURESH RAINA                                                                     5. BEN STOKES
6.       MS DHONI [CAPTAIN]                                                          6.  RAVI BOPARA
7.       RAVINDRA JADEJA                                                                7.   TIM BRESNAN
8.       PRAVEEN KUMAR                                                                 8. STUART BROAD
9.       RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN                                                   9. GRAEME SWANN
10.   R.P SINGH                                                                              10. JAMES ANDERSON
11.   MUNAF PATEL                                                                       11. JADE DERNBACH
So these are both the teams for the 3rd ODI between India and England.  India have 2 more youngsters coming in their squad, as Ravindra Jadeja replaced Manoj Tiwary  and  R.P Singh replacing Vinay Kumar while England take Trott back in for Samit Patel. India got a very horrid start as  they lost Ajinkya Rahane in the 4th ball of the innings as James Anderson bowled a fast ball which went straight into the hands of  Jonathan Trott at first slip and India were 1-1. India lost Dravid even by some excellent fielding by James Anderson as he threw a direct hit and the umpire went for the review as he gave Dravid out and India now were in deep trouble ,9-2. India kept on losing wickets as they lost their opener  Parthiv Patel for only 3 runs as James Anderson got another breakthrough as he got his 2nd wicket and India were 13-3  and in trouble. Virat Kohli was looking to score runs but James Anderson claimed his  3rd wicket including a run out as India were 25-4 and needed some partnership. India were looking to build a partnership between Raina and Dhoni  but Broad picked up a crucial wicket of Raina for 21 and India were in deep trouble,58-5 and that even in the 20th over. After the wicket of Raina, India got some excellent batting by the skipper, M.S Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja as both of them put on a magnificent 112 run stand. MS Dhoni got a very cool half century as Jadeja, the man who was playing a match after a long time for India got a half century but finally the partnership was broken by Tim Bresnan as he bowled a slower delivery which was taken easily by Cook on mid-wicket as Dhoni had to depart for a fine 69 and India were 170-6 in  the 45th  over.  The new man to come in was Ravichandran Ashwin. He was in hold of many boundaries. Jadeja was playing brilliantly for his 78 but in the last over he was taken by Ian Bell on gully from the bowling of Jade Dernbach as India were 229-7 in the 50th over.  Ashwin got a boundary to end the innings as India finished off with a good 234-7. India, who were one stage, 58-5 got to this score only because of the captain, Dhoni [69] and Jadeja [78] and R. Ashwin [36] who hit some final shots. So the target for England to win this game will be 234 to win as the rain is now starting to come here  in the Oval, London. The rain had stopped after an hour or so. The match was changed into a 43 over game and the England target will be 218 to win.  England got to an excellent start as Craig Kieswetter got a lot of sixes and Cook even helped him for the 63 run stand as Munaf Patel broke the partnership with a good faster delivery which went across Cook and hit him in the pads as Patel gave a big appeal and the umpire raised his finger straight away and England were 63-1. Kieswetter raced away to a half century of only 44 balls when Jadeja  striked for India  as  he bowled a good  left arm spin delivery which  went straight to kieswetter and then into the stumps as England were 87-2 in 17 overs. India got another big wicket  of Jonathan Trott just in the next over after the dismissal of Craig Kieswetter as Ashwin bowled a good delivery which went to hit straight into the stumps as England now were in trouble,89-3. As England were looking to get a partnership, they lost Ian Bell by a very stunning  piece  of fielding by M.S Dhoni as  the ball was going to the boundary,  but Dhoni gave a very accurate through which was straight away given out and England were 131-4. Well, now there was a twist to the game as they lost Ben Stokes even in the next over after Ian Bells wicket as Ashwin bowled a straight delivery which again landed into the stumps as Stokes had to depart  for 20 in the 27.4 over as they were 133-5, needed  another 85 runs from 98 balls!  England got a good ,  partnership of 60  runs between Bopara and Bresnan when Jadeja broke it by anther delivery which was tossed up and Bresnan looked to get a shot behind but again landed into the stumps  as England were 193-6, needed 25 of 25.  Bopara was looking solid in the middle but he was again bowled by Ashwin as he bowled a touch wide delivery which went to Dhoni hands and he took of the bails immediately,  but he   did not know that the ball had hit the stumps before it came to him and England were 208-7. Well  now, you all must be thinking who had  won the match. It was again England as Swann put a very good boundary and a single to end the innings by a 3 wicket victory and to lead the series 2-0.

                                                                4TH ODI
So, we are all set for the fourth ODI between India and England at Lords, London. England are leading the 5 match series 2-0.  England were looking forward to win this game and finish off this series with a win while India will have to win this game and the next one too. India having suffered from many injuries this tour will look to bring in the youngsters. The toss was again won by England and they for the 4th time elected to bowl first. These are both the teams for the 4th ODI:-

So these are both the teams for the 4th ODI. India went with an unchanged team. England made one change as Steven Finn replaced Jade Dernbach. India were batting first. Both the openers, Parthiv Patel and Ajinkya Rahane gave India a good start. Stuart Broad broke the partnership when the score was on 65 as he got Ajinkya Rahane for 38. He bowled a low full toss which struck him in his pad and he was been declared out LBW. Broad got another wicket as he bowled a short pitch ball to Parthiv Patel [27] who top-edged it high in the air and it was taken comfortably by Ravi Bopara in the leg side. India’s score was now 70-2. Both Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid were trying to build a partnership but Graeme Swann got the wicket of Virat Kohli [16]. Swann bowled a good delivery which Kohli edged it behind to Kieswetter. Graeme Swann picked up another wicket in the same over as he got the big wicket of Rahul Dravid for 19. He bowled a quicker delivery which Dravid edged it back to Swann and India now was in trouble, 110-4. India needed a partnership and they got one between Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. They made a 169 run stand together. Both of them struck crucial half centuries. Steven Finn struck in the last over as he got the big wicket of Raina who had played wonderfully for his 84 of 75 balls. Raina looked to play a big shot for six but Ben Stokes took a marvellous catch to get rid of Raina. The skipper, MS Dhoni also played well for his unbeaten 78* of 71 balls. India posted a good score of 280 and gave England a target 281 to win the series. At one stage India were struggling at 110-4 but Raina and Dhoni saved them with a great partnership of 169 runs. The England bowlers were bowling well in the start but gave too many runs in the end.  ... ( to be continued...)
